Register for OCENS Mail service at http://www.ocens.net/globalstar/installer.htm or by contacting OCENS at admin@ocens.net
Install OCENS Mail from the CD or download it from http://www.ocens.net/globalstar/installer.htm
Input your username and password exactly as given to you from OCENS Activation staff. Remember your username and password is case sensitive and must be all lowercase.
The OCENS Mail Gateway is the program that you’ll use to send and receive emails to server for processing.
You will compose and read all of your emails offline.
You will want to use the bundled iScribe program or configure your Outlook Express, Outlook or other email client to use with the OCENS Mail gateway. More information on how to configure these programs can be found in OCENS Mail under Help>Help under Mail Program Configuration.
To test your OCENS Mail program, open iScribe (or the mail program you’re going to use with OCENS Mail) and compose an email by pressing on New Mail. Once you input a valid email address to send a test message to, press Send. This will place the message in the sent folder of your Email program, however it has not yet been sent out to the server for processing.
You will now notice that the OCENS Mailbox icon in the system tray has a flag popping up and down telling you that there is email waiting to be sent to the server for processing.
Click on the OCENS Mail icon here or double click on OCENS Mail on the desktop.
Press go to dial your Globalstar phone and send and receive any emails that are waiting to be sent out or received from the server.
Once the email transaction is complete, your Globalstar phone will end the satellite phone call.
Open your email composition program in order to load the messages from OCENS Mail. If you’re using Outlook or Outlook Express you will need to press the Send/Receive button in order to load the messages over from OCENS Mail.

The following Error Codes are Most Common:
630 The modem was disconnected due to a hardware failure. This error occurs when there is a hardware failure either with the physical modem or the connecting devices between the modem and connection device. When this error occurs, you should check all of your connections and verify that everything is securely plugged in and that your Globalstar phone is capable of data calls. If you are using a USB/Serial device that does not support incoming and outgoing data, this error message can occur. Please contact OCENS for a recommended Globalstar cable.
691 Access was denied because the user name and/or password were invalid on the domain. This error occurs when the username/password entered is invalid on the server. Verify the username/password you have entered in WeatherNet by selecting Program from the menu, then settings. To verify your username/password in OCENS Mail: click on Options>Settings. Verify that the username and password are entered in all lowercase with no spaces and does not contain a @ocens.net suffix. This text should be entered exactly as specified from your OCENS service agreement.
997 General Timeout Error. This error occurs anytime that there is no access to the network. It usually occurs in conjunction with another error message, the other error message is important to notate, this is a general time out error and provides no debugging information to OCENS staff. Check your network settings and verify that they are all set to connect to your Globalstar phone and that the phone is working properly with data capabilities enabled.
10060 Connection timed out. A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or the established connection failed because the connected host has failed to respond. This occurs when the connection times out, either because the Globalstar phone you are using dropped signal or could not efficiently connect to the WeatherNet or OCENS Mail server. If this occurs, you can reset your network timeouts to allow a longer connection time or simply try your call again later at a more advantageous location to receive Globalstar satellite service. This could also be associated with the configurations associated with Error 10061, please see below for corrections associated with this error.
10061 Connection refused. No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. This error occurs when there is no way to reach the WeatherNet port 194 or OCENS Mail port 23. Your Internet Security or Firewall program or Windows Firewall can cause this problem. Disabling all firewalls or modifying them to allow access to port 194 should correct this error for WeatherNet. Port 23 is required to access OCENS Mail.
10065 No route to host. A socket operation was attempted to an unreachable host. This error occurs when there is no way to reach the WeatherNet or OCENS Mail service. What usually occurs is the modem you are dialing to does not exist on the computer. Verify that you have installed your Globalstar phone as a modem before trying to dial to OCENS WeatherNet or OCENS Mail and the default connection is Globalstar Packet Modem and the connection type is Globalstar.
